2020 Holiday Season is Here
November 16, 2020
It's hard to believe, but the 2020 holiday season is here. It may feel like it has gone fast or slow depending on how you look at it, but regardless, it's here. Family gatherings may look different, but we still have to celebrate the joy of the season, and be thankful for what we do have.
Topics we're going to discuss in this blog include turkey, candles, germs, and Black Friday deals.
TURKEY TIME
With it being only 10 days away from Thanksgiving, here are a few tips for when you start cooking that delicious piece of meat.
-
Clean the oven and your hands before you start cooking. When was the last time you cleaned your oven? Before cooking a big, fat, turkey would be a good time to do it. Washing your hands shouldn't need much explanation at this point in 2020.
-
This goes without saying...always have someone in the kitchen monitoring the oven. Check on the turkey every 15 or so minutes. We don't want your house going up in flames and you having to call your insurance company to file a claim for a total loss on your house.
-
Handle knives with care, especially with numerous people in the kitchen at the same time. We don't want to be causing any injuries to the ones we love during such a joyful holiday.
CANDLES
Nothing much better than a good smelling candle. Keep these things in mind around the holiday season.
-
Watch where you put the candle. Make sure it is not in reach of young kids or animals.
-
Don't put flammable objects near the candle in case something bad were to happen.
-
Enjoy the smell for goodness sake.
GERMS
Don't we know about these? I know you can get a little tired of hearing about germs, but make sure you are taking the necessary steps to keep yourself and your home clean.
-
Wash your hands, especially before cooking the big family meal for Thanksgiving.
-
Wash your face. Our hands carry some of the most germs on our body, and we humans like to touch our face often. We may be giving family members hugs, so we want to be sure we are doing everything we can to keep them safe.
-
Clean your house. Dust all the nooks and crannies. Stay clean and safe during this 2020 holiday season.
